Events and entertainment website Derby Days Out is excited to reveal its vibrant new website and logo in time for the ease of COVID-19 restrictions. The website can now be enjoyed at http://www.derbydaysout.co.uk/
Managing director Sarah Bulmer worked incredibly hard during the UK lockdowns to keep the site as active as possible for its loyal followers and is proud to unveil the brand’s contemporary, fresh new look with a whole range of Derby events and attractions now available to the public.
Founded in 2015, DerbyDaysOut.co.uk was set up help parents, grandparents and carers find a great day out at the click of a button. Since then, the site has evolved into an award-winning, renowned and trusted resource for families to use across Derbyshire and beyond.
COVID-19 could have proved fatal for the brand but Sarah’s passion to maintain the site in every way she could, allowed it to weather the storm.
Winning the Mainframe Award for Creativity for Good in April 2021 reinvigorated Sarah’s confidence and was the inspiration behind the new logo, colours and brand image. It felt like the perfect time to take bold action and mark the next step in the Derby Days Out journey!
Every shape tells a story and this was the creative goal behind the new logo. The Derbyshire shape is an important element and represents the love of Derbyshire as a whole and the abundance of things it has to offer for everyone of all ages.
Other notable features include the ‘sun shape’, which beams a light over the county. The ‘purple triangles’ represent the Peak District, the awe-inspiring scenery, fantastic walks and beautiful countryside. The ‘dotted wiggle’ represents Derbyshire’s flowing rivers and lakes. The ‘dash-circle’ in the middle focuses on the many wonderful walking trails across all of Derbyshire. Last but not least, the ‘pink arrow’ points directly to the Derbyshire shape and is showing us the way!
The new website also includes extra features that highlight event details including carer rates, free entry, the ‘Family Arts Standards’ and many more. A very exciting addition is the introduction of events ‘For Grown-ups’ to welcome a new audience.
In addition, the site boasts stunning photography, engaging blog posts and a resource library.
Teamwork has made the dream-work with the redesign! Sarah worked with web designer Charlie Tennant on the new layout and features and remarks how Charlie has been a huge support. Laura Parry of Parry Creative was the re-brand creative genius and Laura Firth from MiniAperture supplied the truly breath-taking photos of Derbyshire used on the website and social media.
Last but by no means least, Sarah sends a huge thank you to the Derby Days Out followers who are the ultimate inspiration behind it all.
Derby Days Out is a fantastic place for businesses to showcase and promote their events and attractions to people looking for a good day out, whether it be in a group or a solo trip.
Sarah Bulmer, Managing Director of Derby Days Out said, “I am very excited about the new website launch. The product of hard work and lots of late nights! I wanted the new website to reflect our core aim – to support in promoting great events, attractions and fantastic beauty spots across the county and encourage families to explore, try new things and experience great days out.”
