For classical music lovers in the Bakewell area the weekend of May 31st/June 1st brings you a wonderful opportunity to hear two lovely chamber music concerts with piano at Bakewell Town Hall.
The two concerts are led by Caroline Pether, leader of the Manchester Camerata. She is joined by pianist Paul Janes, and musicians from the Hallé orchestra, many of whom have performed regularly at the chamber series in Bakewell Town Hall which is organised by Dale Culliford, cellist in the Hallé.
On Saturday 31st May at 7.pm the programme will include piano trios by Haydn, Schumann and Beethoven, performed by Caroline, Dale and Paul.
The following afternoon on June 1st, at 3pm the concert will be perfect music for a summer Sunday – a Mozart violin sonata, Dvořák Cypresses for string quartet and the wonderful piano quintet also by Dvořák, a tuneful and sunny work full of lively rhythms and Bohemian spirit.
All the musicians performing have commented on how much they love playing in Bakewell. They enjoy the venue, the town and its surroundings, and the very welcoming audience.
