Derbyshire Open Arts is ready to go!

From the Chair, Pete Singer…

More than 200 artists have been beavering away all year and are now ready to welcome you all to their magnificent venues spread right across our glorious county for this year’s Derbyshire Open Arts weekend 27-29 May. Come and meet potters, painters, glass makers and artists of all kinds, in venues ranging through village halls, old mills and artists’ own studios. We’ll all be delighted to meet you to show off and talk about our work. Maybe we can tempt you into buying that present for your Dad, a gift for a friend, or even a treat for yourself – you know you’re worth it! Whatever your reason for visiting us, we know you’ll have a great time. We look forward to seeing you all.

Last minute venue updates

  • John Sutcliffe, venue 39, regrets he will no longer be able to exhibit over the weekend. Please feel free to contact him if you are interested in his work.
  • Venue 60 has moved round the corner from Mellor Road, and the four artists will now exhibit at 43 Whitle Road, New Mills SK22 4EH.
  • You may have heard that Caudwell’s Mill in Rowsley is partially closed for the present time. Our artists are still exhibiting there though, in their usual studios as Venue 28. Free parking is still available.
  • We made a slight hiccup in the brochure. There are two venues on Swallow House Lane in Hayfield – Henry Walsh at 76 Swallow House Lane, and six artists at Bank Vale Paper Mill also on Swallow House Lane. They are very close to each other, just ask for directions between the venues!

Have a fantastic weekend!
