A prestigious art competition run by our Buxton Museum and Art Gallery has announced this year’s winners, following a two-year break because of Covid.
Cath Dunn was announced as the winner of the Derbyshire Trophy, recognised as the main competition prize, for her piece Dark and White Peak.
It’s now on exhibition at the museum and art gallery in Terrace Road, Buxton, alongside 106 other works from the competition, which can all be seen for free.
The winners of the 38th Derbyshire Open Art Competition were chosen from 248 entries from across Derbyshire and neighbouring counties.
Cath, centre, was presented with her award by Councillor Susan Hobson cabinet support member for Strategic Leadership, Culture, Tourism and Climate Change, right, and our Museums Manager Ros Westwood OBE.
