I set up Yellow Spade Design Ltd in 2011 with the aim of providing cost-effective graphic design services (for print and online) to SME’s, the education sector, not for profit organisations and individual clients…whilst creating a small range of retail products based on my own original artwork and photography.  In the company’s early years, SME’s, education and Charities provided the majority of new business, whilst efforts to develop products for retail was temporarily parked.

In 2018 in-house dye sublimation printing was added to the companies main offering.  With 40+ years’ experience in design, publishing and printing, the photo-finishing industry and engineering, this gave the opportunity to combine the skills I’ve acquired along the way with a love of art, music, humour, film and politics to begin creating a range of themed personalised and generic products.

Covid changed everything.

As 2020’s lockdown took hold many customers reduced their requirements for traditional design services. This gifted the opportunity to spend more time developing and offering Yellow Spade Design’s retail products through Amazon and Etsy. I also used this time to begin crafting unique products from reclaimed timber, enhancing the company’s overall retail offer.

Since 2021, retail has generated a higher percentage of the company’s revenue, whilst the company continues to rebuil and expand its traditional graphic design portfolio.

I believe in fair and ethical business practices and thoroughly enjoy working with the diverse range of clients I have been lucky enough to meet since the company’s creation, and look forward to meeting many more as it continues to evolve.

I remain the sole employee of the company, and hope you enjoy my work.
