Wylde Oake Artistry

My name is Jane M Murdock and I am interdisciplinary research-led artist, working within a multi-sensory practice based in Derbyshire.  The artistic media I use including but not exclusively, soft pastels, pastel and differing mixed media paper or textiles deepen the material investigation of my specialised area of interest.  More specifically, my work seeks to create dialogue surrounding the inter-relatedness of human and non-human species within a post-human world through focusing upon the   fungal kingdom and the ecosystems on which it both relies and sustains.

I hold a BA Honours in Textiles and am currently studying for an MA in Fine Art which finishes summer 2023 – both from the University for the Creative Arts.   I am also in the throws of putting together PhD proposals as I wish to refine and deepen both academic and artistic research in my chosen field particularly within a post-human and new materialist framework that seeks to incorporate both traditional materials and digital technologies.
