Simpson Image Production

I have been involved in education for many years, teaching at a number of levels and am available to run courses or workshops in photography or video. I have worked as a commercial photograper but my personal work, involving the production of fine black and white prints, has always been more important to me. I have exhibited work on numerous occasions. I am now working with digital and this has caused a considerable shift in the direction of my work. Recent photographic work includes ‘Album’, a comment on new and old photographic technologies, time and intrusion while ‘Case Studies’ is an ongoing work involved with mental states. Current video work is experimental using still and video images.I have worked in mental health and this is an area which interests me (as I suffer with depression myself), and some of my personal work is informed by these issues. Video is an excellent medium to motivate and build confidence and I have run workshops in this area, producing several short films in which groups have participated on both sides of the camera. I am interested in using video in collaborative work with other artists, especially dance/performance.
