Ldm-art (Dr Linda Dent Mitchell)

Following her training as a textile designer Linda built on her knowledge  when she studied her BA in Art and Design. Her work was acknowledged by the renowned textile artist and examiner Constance Howard MBE RCA MSDC awarding her Distinction for imaginative and innovative use of media. She went on to study an MA in Art and Design Education and a PG DIP in Teaching. With the onset of digital media in the 90s Linda did important research as to how it would influence painters with small studios between 1997 and 2003. For this body of work she was awarded a PhD. Her current practice utilises both abstract and abstract/figurative imagery using acrylics on canvas. She has also created a large body of work using digital media exclusively. She is a Fellow of the RSA and an affiliate member of Banks Mill Studios, Derby. Linda has exhibited both nationally and internationally.
