Beth’s Poetry Trail

The Trail is a special project of Poetry People. There are 20 poems and extracts of poems, interpreted in different ways and media, in publicly accessible places in Belper, so that it is possible to walk around the whole trail. Each poem has been chosen to fit with the place that it is situated in. Some are by extremely well known poets, others local or even specially commissioned, and including two by Beth Fender in whose memory the project is being undertaken. Installations are at a pub, the railway station, library, River Gardens and more! We offer guided walks around the trail, and take it to community groups as a ‘virtual’ walk. A leaflet is available which includes a map showing the sites and this can be picked up at Belper Library or Strutt’s North Mill.
