I have worked as a Visual Participatory Artist since 1994. I am also a Project Manager, Trainer, Curator, Author and Events organiser. My projects have been with all ages & abilities but since 2008 I have worked predominantly on Arts & Health projects with vulnerable elders in both an artist and training role, including adults with dementia. I have set up 'artSage' working as an arts & health practitioner. My main aim is to encourage people to explore and express as freely as possible to boost self-esteem and social engagement. This is done with guidance towards a quality piece of work, through a wide range of media including textiles, collage, painting, 3D mixed media, photography, printing, live art and interactive response. My own art practice is in site-specific & issue-based installation & performance, often working outdoors and in non-gallery locations.
