Arts Derbyshire

OUR NETWORKING

New Horizons is back for 2025. Our creative networking sessions enable the dissemination of training and knowledge sharing between artists and arts organisations within Derbyshire. The 2025 programme has themes that are due to bring wonderful conversations, collaborations and ideas for new approaches in professional practice for Arts Derbyshire members.

Theme: Arts In the Community
31 January 2025, Heanor

Come along to Heanor in Amber Valley on January 31st and start the new year off on a high with a brilliant networking opportunity for Arts Derbyshire members. As well as our usual schedule of events; networking, training and knowledge sharing for our members, we will also be assembling a panel to talk on the theme of Arts in The Community.

Arts in The Community is the practice of art based in and generated in a community setting. Often when communities are struggling with social concerns, art projects in the community initiate cooperative dialogue and bring solutions and change. Our Panel will discuss what Community Arts can achieve through co curation and how projects help to improve community cohesion, higher empathy and community pride. Get ahead of the game early into 2025 with this event, set a reminder, block your schedule and get the date in your diary!

Theme: Festivals Development
16 May 2025, Ashbourne

Up next on the programme, we will be heading to the beautiful market town of Ashbourne for the New Horizons spring session!

Our topic of the event is Festivals Development – a huge part of what we do and what the county of Derbyshire is known for. In Derbyshire, there are over 100 festivals, some big, some small, but all committed to celebrating the arts, creativity and culture throughout the county. Our panel will discuss what roots a festival to place, makes it unique and how you can measure its success?

So, make sure to come along as we discuss this further, and talk about the development of festivals in our wonderful county in context to celebrating the arts, creativity and culture throughout with our panel (TBC).
