New Horizons is back for 2025. Our creative networking sessions enable the dissemination of training and knowledge sharing between artists and arts organisations within Derbyshire. The 2025 programme has themes that are due to bring wonderful conversations, collaborations and ideas for new approaches in professional practice for Arts Derbyshire members.
New Horizons 31st January 2025
Arts in the Community
Arts in the Community have a profoundly positive impact by nurturing creativity, enhancing cultural awareness, and strengthening social bonds. They provide a platform for diverse voices, improve mental well-being, and stimulate local economies. However, challenges such as securing consistent funding, ensuring accessibility for all, and maintaining engagement can hinder the full potential of community arts initiatives. Addressing these challenges requires collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to inclusivity to create vibrant, resilient communities enriched by the arts. Join us on the 31st January 2025 for a fascination discussion on Arts in the Community with a particular focus on Derbyshire. This event brings together a brilliant Panel chaired by Suzannah Bedford CEO & Creative Director of City Arts and Chair of East Midlands Participatory Arts Forum.
Panel: Suzannah Bedford (City Arts& EMPAF), Rachel Smith (MakeShift), Mark Hornsey (Babbling Vagabonds), Debi Hedderwick (Independent Artist & Arts Derbyshire)
