The Workshop

Your workshop host, Angela, is looking forward to meeting you and says: “Join us for a fun-filled day of creativity and craft as you learn the art of needle felting and make your very own adorable Gonk, or snowman if you’d prefer, – customised in the colours of your choice! Let your imagination run wild and bring your very own Gonk to life!

Whether you’re completely new to felting or looking to build on your skills, this workshop is designed to be relaxed, friendly, and hands-on. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the process, from shaping and sculpting to adding those charming finishing touches. Your gonk / snowman will have their own special personality … beware, you may not be able to part with them, if you were thinking of giving it as a gift!!”

In this workshop you will literally needle felt your entire gonk … this means they will be long lasting and durable!

What to bring on the day?

Anticipation to enjoy the whole experience!

Specific to this workshop:

• Reading glasses if you need them.
• Please bring your own lunch or some money to buy something from either the hot-food hut nearby or the small local Asda.

What skills are needed?

No experience is necessary. You will receive step-by-step guidance from an experienced tutor. You will be using a repetitive up and down action into your wool with a felting needle. The needle has a comfortable handle. At the same time, with your other hand, you will be holding onto and shaping the wool. You need a certain degree of concentration to make sure you keep the needle from pricking your other hand, As soon as you get into the swing of it, you should find it a soothing, mindful process.

What are the timings?

This is a relaxed, happy, full-day running from 10am to 4pm.

Our purple front door will be open from 9.30am so we can welcome you in, you can get to meet Angela and your fellow gonk crafters and grab a cuppa before you start.

How many places are available?

To ensure the quality of your personal experience, the group size is limited to 8.

What is the cost?

£60 + £1.17 card fee. This includes all the materials needed to make your cute creation, drinks and Christmas treats during the day (excluding lunch)

We want you to go home with a spring in your step and feel really good about what you have achieved. To make sure we can thoroughly look after you during your workshop please fill in your booking form with all the things that will help, be it your favourite milk, or any extra support you may require. Please also let us know of allergies that we may need to highlight to your fellow crafters e.g. nuts, perfume. Many thanks.
