The Workshop

Your tutor, Alyson, is looking forward to meeting you and says: “Book folding takes many forms and uses evolving techniques that have grown in popularity over the last few years. This is great because folding books helps save books from landfill!

Come along with your family to make a prickle ( family ) of hedgehogs. There will be 3 styles of book folded hedgehog on offer.

In this fun and relaxed class, suitable for beginners, you will learn the folds needed to create your very own hedgehog. Hints and tips will be given along the way. One you have finished folding you can bring your hedgehog to life with the use of buttons to give him a face and younger children might like to give theirs more character with the use of pompoms and googly eyes!

Howie is particularly DELIGHTED that we are going to be celebrating all things hedgehog with him! While we make our hedgehogs we could chat about how we might be able to look after hedgehogs in our own gardens. There has been a dramatic decline in our UK population and Howie is very worried about his cousins. He thinks this link is excellent  https://www.britishhedgehogs.org.uk/ … especially this short film: https://www.britishhedgehogs.org.uk/hedgehog-close-film/
