Your tutor, Melinda, is looking forward to meeting you and says: “Are you:
• a self-taught dressmaker?
• just starting out on your dressmaking journey?
• a dressmaker with some experience looking to learn some techniques to improve the finish of your garments?
If so, this half day workshop could be just what you are looking for! … Be prepared to pick up lots of tips and snippets of dressmaking information too throughout the day.
During the workshop you will learn:
• how to insert zips in garments – both standard and concealed zips.
• how to sew buttonholes
You will leave this workshop with a series of sample pieces you have made demonstrating each technique covered, for you to keep to refer to in your sewing journey.
You can either bring your machine or use one of our machines (first come first served)”

Specific to this workshop:
As already said by Melinda, this workshop is for beginners who have just found an interest in learning to make clothes or those who already have some experience. You will need to know how to use all the basic controls on a sewing machine.
This is a relaxed, morning running from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Our purple front door will be open from 9.00am so we can welcome you in, you can get to meet Melinda and your fellow crafters and grab a cuppa before you start.
To ensure the quality of your personal experience, the group size is limited to 12.
£30 + 71p card fee. This includes all the materials needed to learn these techniques, and drinks and home-made biscuits during the morning (excluding lunch)
