What's on
Your tutor, Faye, is looking forward to meeting you and says: “This one day course offers an exploration into how to use a variety of exciting mixed media techniques and different mediums (such as paint and inks) with the aim of creating a simple one page concertina book bursting with colour, texture and imagery on the theme of flowers, by the end of the session.
After initially preparing the background of our large A2 sheet of mixed media paper, we will then be doing some gel printing and mark making to create some ‘collage fodder’ and once we have stack of collage fodder papers, we’ll put them aside to dry whilst we start to paint the background. A break for lunch will give the opportunity for everything to dry nicely!
After our lunch, we’ll begin to use our collage fodder and experiment with lots of different techniques to cover our sheet of paper. By the end of the afternoon, we shall be able to turn our one colourful page into a simple concertina folded book and finish it off with a final bit of embellishing.
The resulting concertina book page will not only be a ‘joy to behold’ but it will act as a useful record of all the different techniques that you have learnt. It will be something you can refer to, to inspire you for your own projects going forward.”
Anticipation to enjoy the whole experience!
