Poetry Doesn’t Suck – The Vampire Poetry Slam

Who will be crowned Derby’s next ‘Count of Poetry’?

 

Marking 102 years since Hamilton Deane’s iconic adaptation of Dracula premiered in Derby, ‘Poetry Doesn’t Suck – The Vampire Slam’ returns on Friday 15th May, from 7.30pm at Chapel Street Arts Centre.

 

In this traditional style slam, competitors will showcase two original gothic and vampire inspired poems in front of our panel of Judges, award-winning poet and producer Aoife O’Connor, the reigning Count of Poetry Chris White and Author, Historian and Great Grand-nephew of Bram Stoker, Dacre Stoker, who will be reading extracts from Dracula as part of the event.
