Buxton’s Greenman Gallery, the art gallery and live performance space, is sadly closing its doors at the end of the year.
Singer songwriter Hannah Brine will be the final act to perform there on Saturday December 21st. A mix of beautifully crafted original songs and Christmas classics are on offer at this farewell gig, which will also be a chance to say a huge thank you to Caroline, the venue manager, for many years of community service.
Hannah, who was awarded Best Solo Vocal at this year’s Buxton Fringe, where she sold out all her performances, says “I have loved performing at the Greenman Gallery; it’s such a lovely, intimate space, and will be sorely missed in the High Peak music scene. Its reputation is down to Caroline – her hard work and lovely spirit – and personally I want to thank her for making my Fringe debut and subsequent gigs there so supported.”
Hannah is currently recording her debut album “Blue Sky Now is a beautiful contemporary jazz album with shades of 60’s and 70’s greats: Hannah Brine’s new album is an enchanting body of work, rooted in modern jazz sensibilities, but also influenced by iconic singer songwriters spanning several decades, such as Carole King, Norah Jones and Cleo Sol. This unique blend of styles and genres, overarched by Hannah’s distinctive and individual vocal ability makes her work stand out as a delight to experience.”
Hannah will be performing with Manchester based pianist Joe Tanner. Joe leads the Manchester big band ‘Tanner and the Tones’ , as well as conducting Chapel-en-le-Frith Ladies Choir.
