About the Event

Takanori Funamoto, Senior Lecturer in Japanese Studies at NTU, and Lucy Granger, Head of International Trade at the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce for an insightful afternoon exploring Japan through both cultural and economic lenses. Moving beyond familiar discussions of etiquette and protocol, the event will uncover fundamental assumptions within Japanese culture. Understanding these often-unspoken cultural frameworks can provide valuable insights for anyone seeking to work with Japanese partners. This event will provide an overview of the opportunities available through the UK-Japan Free Trade Agreement. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with organisations across the East Midlands that share an interest in strengthening commercial, educational and cultural links with Japan.
