Our Street – celebrating Buxton’s past, present and future. Bringing communities together through art and culture.
Our Street is part of Buxton’s High Street Heritage Action Zone project, and as part of a two-year programme, is looking to commission cultural activities that bring people together in and around Buxton’s Spring Gardens. Creative people, writers, photographers, artists, musicians, artisans, wonder-makers are needed to help celebrate the heritage of the area, have fun and create lasting memories for participants and audiences, locals and visitors, young and old.
Our Street invite you to get in touch, join in and become part of the story.
The brief
This is an opportunity for artists to let their imaginations run riot. Submissions can be for micro-workshops engaging small groups of people, large-scale artworks and everything in between. Who knows? Maybe we’ll start some new traditions?
What is provided
Our Street have secured funding to support up to 10 projects over the course of the next two years, with budgets ranging from £200 to £2,000.
Project coordinator, Gemma, will support you throughout your work. All activity will be included in our social media platforms and website and on Historic England’s HSHAZ pages
Who can apply
This call is open to all practitioners, working at any level, operating in and around Buxton.
If you are under 18 years old you can still take part through the Youth Board, where you may be eligible for a mentor and support to realise your ideas.
Open to all
‘Our Street’ is committed to equality and diversity in all opportunities provided. We encourage submissions from artists of all backgrounds, ages, genders, socio-economic backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, and from those who identify as having a disability or consider themselves neurodiverse.
