We hope that you will join the celebrations at Melbourne Festival on 19 & 20 September for the 21st Art & Architecture Trail!
The Festival may be a well oiled machine after all these years but it is always full of surprises! his year you will discover a mix of artists who have exhibited at the Melbourne Festival before and lots of new faces, the artists all exhibit in private homes, gardens and halls in the heart of the village.
The Trail is open from 10am -5pm. Parking is available at Tori & Ben’s Farm Shop or Melbourne Schools, pick up a Wristband & Trail Guide from the helpful sellers on the streets (Adults £7.50 for weekend, under 18’s Free) and plan your route with 175 artists in 65 venues you have plenty of options!
Don’t miss – Humanity, Nature & Creativity – the first half of an amazing project supported by a National Lottery Project Grant from Arts Council England – highlights are The Secret Sculpture Garden in The Gardens at Melbourne Hall, showcasing commissioned sculpture “Shared Lines” by Stevie Davies, other commissions are in The Billiard Room at Melbourne Hall.
Creative Melbourne has taken things to a whole new level in community workshops “South Derbyshire in Stitches” celebrating the amazing architecture and heritage of Melbourne & South Derbyshire, the four quilts will be
on show at Melbourne Parish Church.
Refreshments are available at the Food Fayre at Castle Farm, the Art Café at Melbourne Assembly Rooms, in church halls and at Melbourne’s many excellent cafés, restaurants and pubs
