Prize Winning McLachlan Piano Duo

Both are internationally renowned and have received an impressive number of prestigious awards, you will not want to miss this performance from two very talented individuals all for only £12.

In 2016, Rose was the overall winner of the Scottish International Youth Prize at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and in 2017 was awarded the Yamaha Prize in the EPTA UK competition. She was the winner of the Beethoven Society of Europe Junior Intercollegiate competition in 2019 and also that year was awarded the overall prize in the 11^th “Dora Pejacevich” competition. She has won the Chopin Prize at both Chetham’s and at the Royal Northern College of Music. In February 2022, Rose was awarded the Kirklees Young Musician Award and in May won first prize in the Christopher Duke International Piano Competition. In November 2022, Rose was awarded the Musician’s Company Silver Medal and won Young Artists Concerto Competition at the Piano Texas International Festival and Academy.

Matthew is no different, winning third prize in the senior division of the first Scottish International Youth Prize Competition, held at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in July 2016. In 2014 Matthew’s performance of Ravel’s G Major Piano Concerto was commended in the Chetham’s Concerto competition and he was also a prizewinner at the 2014 Mazovia Chopin Festival in Poland. As a result of this performance, he was chosen to perform a solo recital at the 2015 World Piano Teachers’ Conference in Novi Sad, Serbia. In 2016 Matthew gave many recitals and was a finalist in the Chetham’s Beethoven Piano Competition for the second year running. He was also awarded first prize in the Chetham’s Senior Bach competition.

Together they will present a wonderful programme of solo and piano duo repertoire to include Schubert Wanderer Fantasy, and Debussy Etudes for solo piano, and Schubert F minor Fantasie and Rachmaninov Morceaux opus 11 for piano duo.
