The event coincides with the exhibition Wright of Derby: From the Shadows which is currently showing at the Art Gallery (from 13 June – 1 November 2026). Why not combine your visit to the exhibition with this event?

Steve’s novel tells the story of a unique talent and an extraordinary career and presents Joseph Wright for the first time as the complex, compromised character that his life and work reveal him to be.
