Lovers of beautifully curated art have a treat in store this summer.
The cream of artists inspired by and living and working in the stunning Peak District are holding their annual showcase in Buxton on July 18th and 19th.
The Peak District Artisans (PDA) are thrilled to announce that they’ll be celebrating 35 years of creative excellence at their annual showcase which for 2026 will be held at Buxton Pavillion’s Octagon Hall.
Formerly held at Buxton’s Dome, the event is always a fantastic opportunity to meet the artists and purchase something totally unique – whether it’s an original painting, dazzling jewellery, fabulous photography, hand-thrown pottery or a beautiful textile piece.
This diverse exhibition is also a chance to place the spotlight on the best professional artists and makers living and working in the Peak District.
Said a PDA spokesperson: “We are absolutely thrilled to be throwing the doors open at our new venue, Buxton’s Octagon Hall in the iconic Pavilion Gardens and can’t wait to show visitors the breadth of artistic talent that we have here with the added bonus of displaying it at one of the UK’s most stunning locations.
“We will be featuring an exciting collection of contemporary artworks from some of the best professional artists, designer makers and artisans in the region. Artists who have often been inspired by the landscape that surrounds them, or who have made it their home and discovered a place where they can let loose their creativity.
“These are artists who make a living out of making and selling their work both at home and overseas, some of whom are award-winning and this is a chance to not only discover them but also support them.
“For anyone interested in the creative arts, The Summer Showcase is a must-see exhibition.”
Amongst the talented artists who will be showcase their work at the Octagon are Red Cottage printmaker Louise Edwards, from Staffordshire, who specialises in beautiful linocuts inspired by rural life, Sheffield-based Amadora, a multi-disciplinary artist who was named Peak District Artisans’ Young Emerging Artist in 2025 and Catriona Hall whose speciality are wonderful expressive portraits of animals and pets as well as stylised depictions of buildings and landscapes. She is based in Rowarth, High Peak.
