We might be biased but we think Derbyshire is one of the most beautiful counties in the UK and it is an incredible place to visit. With everything from nearly 9,000 km of dry stone walls, traditional cosy pubs, breathtaking landscapes, outdoor activities, and lots of mooching to be done in towns and villages, make a weekend of it, plan an artist trail and pop into galleries, village halls, barns and studios to see some incredible works of art!

This is a free event where our brilliant Derbyshire artists and makers look forward to exhibiting, selling and talking to you about their work. And if you are thinking of bringing the kids, don’t worry, we request that artists ensure all material on show is suitable for family viewing.

To explore the many different genres of art, visit our website www.derbyshireopenarts.co.uk/artists  on your phone or tablet and try one of the many searches you can make to find which artist does what, where they are and how to get there.

You can use our Google route planner to plan your own trail using your ‘favourite artist’s postcodes or download one of the many artist’s trails drawn up by the artists. Many venues will be accessible to wheelchairs, but just in case, it is advisable to check each venue’s information before you set off.

Derbyshire Open Arts is a volunteer-led organisation, run for and by artists and supporters of the arts in Derbyshire. It is funded entirely by artists’ subscriptions and our brochure advertisers. We distribute brochures and leaflets throughout Derbyshire and beyond, in libraries, tourist information centres, hotels, galleries, and cafes.

You can download a brochure from our website and even save a digital version directly onto your phone or tablet!

Please do support our advertisers, where you have the opportunity, and let them know where you saw their advert, as they are helping us to keep this brilliant event going!
