Sunita Thind – Published BAME, Punjabi, Sikh, British, ModelPoet with two poetry collections out in UK

As a British, Punjabi published poet with two published collections of multicultural poetry I was in National Media recently. I am a performance poet as well as Secondary English, History and Primary school teacher and workshop facilitator.

I would love to use my poetry as a medium to voice important issues that woman have to deal with like mental health, equality, cultural and social injustice, racism as well as achievements. Performing recently online for She Grrrowls, Bearded Badger Publishing, South Asian Heritage Festival and Newark Literary Festival and others.

I am now a published poet and have had a book of poetry published by Black Pear Press with called the Barging Buddhi and Other Poems. I also have another book called the Coconut Girl coming out in November of this year by Wild Pressed Books.

I would love to share my multicultural debut poetry collection with and up and coming events/ festivals and also share my story of having Covid during Cancer and chemo , as a woman of colour and perform some of my relevant poetry, creative writing and poetry workshops and or talk. I will be appearing in Good House Keeping magazine-online, Take A Break magazine and Metro newspaper.

There is some information below about my Ovarian Cancer Journey, National Media and my published poetry collections. Minority voices, especially the voices of South Asian females are rarely heard. I am a BAME, female, Punjabi, Malaysian, British poet, teacher, model and writer, I would love to be involved with different opportunities, workshops, media and festivals. I am also an advocate for Ovarian Cancer and have fundraised or charities and completed charity fashion shows.

I have been covered by BBC East Midlands, BBC Radio Derby, BBC Asian Network, Mirror, The Daily Express, Eastern Eye Magazine, Huffington Post and Macmillian Cancer Support as a media volunteer.

The Barging Buddhi and Other Poems is published by Black Pear Press and are available to buy. The collection is based on multicultural poetry and is from the perspective of South Asian Women living between two cultures British and Asian and poetry on Cancer.
