No Jobs In The Arts – Open Call

No Jobs In The Arts - Open Call

No Jobs in the Arts is now taking entries for their sixth zine; they’re seeking visual artwork submissions from early-career artists and creatives currently living, working, or studying in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Leicester, Leicestershire, Derby, or Derbyshire.

Opportunity:

The six artists featured and interviewed for the zine will be paid a fee of £100. The publication will be distributed digitally and in print across the region and beyond. A package of follow-up opportunities is available to people who submit to this open call, including mentor sessions, residences, and paid interviews. The artwork will be selected by a team of emerging curators. There is no submission fee for this opportunity.

Eligibility:

There’s no criteria to define ‘early-career’, so it’s up to you to decide if submitting will benefit you. The opportunity is unsuitable for any artist who does not have a link to the regions named above, or anyone under the age of sixteen at the time of submission. The way No Jobs in the Arts define Visual Art is pretty simple, ‘if we can print any piece of the artwork, we’ll think about including it in the zine’.

How to submit

Send No Jobs in the Arts:

  • up to five digital images of your artwork suitable to be included in our zine, including any
    artwork titles;
  • a description of your practice, no more than 50 words;
  • basic contact information and any relevant links, e.g. Instagram/website details.

Please submit all entries in an email to nojobsinthearts@hotmail.com
Deadline: 17/01/2022 (midnight, Monday 17th January 2022).

Questions:

If you have any questions about this open call, you can always send the project coordinators a message at @nojobsinthearts, or an email to nojobsinthearts@hotmail.com

#6 is funded by the @aceagrams and produced in partnership with @derbyquad, @weareprimary, and @mpndprojects. We will print and circulate the publication nationally in April 2022- it will also be available online in an accessible format.
