A Slight Ache”, written by renowned British playwright Harold Pinter, will focus on community, #creative health and well-being whilst advocating for the arts.

Harold Pinter’s compelling one act play, will tour to village halls and Buxton Fringe Festival this July. The production aims to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to the rural communities by highlighting the positive impact for both the artists involved and raising awareness for audiences by fostering greater community cohesion and well-being. The professional cast of older actors, all Derbyshire based, will take you on a journey that will entertain but provoke discussion. The performance lasts one hour and will be accompanied by a Question & Answer session with the director and cast.
All of us were and continue to be negatively impacted by Covid through reduced opportunities to enjoy live theatre, and increased isolation contributing for some to experience depression. The production hopes, by offering these performances, to contribute to greater health and wellbeing through the enjoyment of live theatre experiences.

The roles of Edward and Flora will be performed by Lewis Hancock and Maggie Ford with the Match Seller played by David Frederickson. Maggie, at 84 years old, returns to the stage after many years
following a prestigious and diverse career including being in the original cast of Joan Littlewood’s renowned production of Oh What a Lovely War!, Mary Shelley for the BBC and two years at the National Theatre.
