In a study of the cultural sector, the Centre for Cultural Value found that only 18% of organisations routinely share their evaluations beyond the inner circle of their immediate funders and stakeholders.
With this in mind, unearthing the insights hidden in existing evaluations has been a central driver in developing the Evaluation Learning Space.
Writing for Arts Professional, the Centre’s Emma McDowell makes the case for learning from each other, failures and all.
“Productive evaluations result in our failures becoming crucial data to inform future actions. We can then design frameworks that are meaningful to our staff. We can articulate our impact using language that resonates with the artists and communities with whom we work.”
