What's on
All the materials needed for the day are provided, Spend the day painting, discovering and practising new techniques and socialising with a small group of friendly artists. Take home your own original version of my ‘Highland Cow’ painting on canvas. This workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers alike. We will experiment with colour mixing, mark making, splattering, layering and glazing, to create a fabulous colourful painting of the iconic Highland Cow.
We begin at 10 am and paint till 4 pm with breaks for coffee/tea and homemade cake, and lunch which is provided. These workshops are always lighthearted and fun, with plenty of laughs, it’s a chance to relax away from it all.
Wear clothing that won’t mind an accidental splash of paint, and get ready to have fun, relax and learn.
Parking is available at South Street, a five-minute walk away, and is £2.50 for the day. The venue at Ashby is a lovely one, a brand-new building, wheelchair accessible with lovely facilities and french windows leading out to a beautiful garden. This unique building stands at a site of historical significance, as evidenced in the wall displays throughout detailing the links to Ashby’s heritage and honouring some of the historical people. This was the site of a medieval vicarage, although there are archaeological finds going back to the Stone Age.
