Join Our Sewing Surgery Workshop

This is the third in the series of our new monthly workshops to give you new skills to assist with your sewing. These sewing advice sessions will always be on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 6pm to 9pm. Sessions will develop over time to be exactly what you need them to be, with your input helping to tailor-make these ongoing workshops.

Your tutor, Melinda, is looking forward to welcoming you and sharing her expert guidance to help you feel confident, capable and inspired in your sewing practice.

What You’ll Do

The topic for this workshop is Demystifying Sewing Patterns and will include advice and chance to practise:

• Taking your measurements
• Learning how to read and understand patterns
• The meaning of pattern markings
• Pattern Sizing
• Cutting out your pattern to fit you

This Workshop Is Perfect For

• Just starting out on your sewing journey!
• Anyone with basic sewing machine experience
• Makers who enjoy learning in a friendly, supportive space

No experience is needed. If you can thread your machine or are motivated to learn, Melinda will guide you through each step.

Workshop Details

• Time: 6pm – 9pm
• Arrival: From 5:30pm for a warm welcome and a cuppa
• Group size: Limited to 8 people for a friendly, supportive atmosphere
• Cost: £30 + 71p card fee This includes all materials needed for the skills session and refreshments during the evening.
