Have you ever heard the word amigurumi and thought… what on earth is that?! Well, it is the Japanese art of crocheting or knitting small, stuffed yarn creatures. Come and discover this adorable Japanese crochet style and learn how to make your very own amigurumi crochet cat to take home!
The word amigurumi is a combination of two Japanese words:
Together, amigurumi literally translates to “crocheted stuffed toy”.
Your tutor, Melinda, is looking forward to welcoming you and sharing this fun, creative skill in a relaxed and supportive setting. She will guide you through each step, making sure you feel supported and confident as you work.
• Beginners, with basic crochet knowledge. No experience needed beyond being able to crochet chains and double crochet stitches.
• Anyone who enjoys cute crafts and handmade projects
• Crocheters wanting to try something new and creative
You’ll leave with your own handmade amigurumi crochet cat (and the skills to make more at home!).
• Reading glasses if needed
• A small, easy to eat snack with you, if you are going to miss having an evening meal. We can provide you with a plate.
• If you have a favourite crochet hook, feel free to bring it along (we’ll be using 3mm/3.5mm).
Most importantly, bring your curiosity and enjoy the process.
• Time: 6pm – 9pm
• Arrival: From 5:30pm for a warm welcome and a cuppa
• Group size: Limited to 8 people for a friendly, supportive atmosphere
£31 + 73p card fee
This includes all the materials needed to create your amigurumi crochet cat and refreshments during the evening.
