Derby Book Festival Autumn Edition: 17-19 November

Derby Book Festival’s Autumn Edition is back for 2023!

Highlights of this year’s Autumn Edition will include events with broadcaster, journalist and author Stuart Maconie, Wes Streeting MP, novelist Nina Stibbe, Irish novelists John Boyne and Anne Griffin, political commentator and journalist Steve Richards, naturalist and environmental campaigner Mark Avery and local world-record holding cyclist Leigh Timmis.

Our Autumn Edition programme includes:

  • Ambrose Parry: The Dark Secrets of Historical Crime
  • Wes Streeting: One Boy, Two Bills and a Fry Up
  • Leigh Timmis: The Race of Truth
  • Sarah Ogilvie: The Dictionary People
  • Peter Bellerby: The Globemakers
  • Bob Cryer: Barry Cryer: Same Time Tomorrow?
  • Steve Richards: Turning Points: Crisis and Change in Modern Britain, from 1945 to Truss
  • Mark Avery: What Wildlife Needs and How to Provide It
  • Caroline Wheeler: Death in the Blood
  • Nine Stibbe: Went to London, Took the Dog: A Diary
  • Stuart Maconie: The Full English
  • Closing Event: John Boyne & Anne Griffin

This is offered as a hybrid programme with in-person and recorded options available.

The Festival will also include a Book Fair at the Museum of Making on Saturday 18 November from 10.30am – 4pm with a range of book-related stalls, including booksellers, book crafts, children’s books and local authors promoting their books.
