Yuletide in Clay

Event details

Celebrate the festive season at Hopton Hall Gallery with Yuletide in Clay, a three-day Christmas showcase featuring contemporary ceramic artists and makers.

Featuring work by Heather Duncan, Gael Cherry, Ian Patrick Palmer, Dovedale Ceramics, and additional guest ceramicists, the exhibition brings together a diverse collection of handcrafted ceramics, from functional ware and sculptural vessels to decorative home pieces.

Gael Cherry’s nature-inspired ceramics incorporate impressions of seed heads and wildflowers grown in her own garden, using layered slips, oxides, and textured glazes to create richly tactile surfaces. Dovedale Ceramics presents handcrafted contemporary pieces featuring reactive glazes, organic forms, and expressive surface textures, including vessels, lighting, and decorative objects. Ian Patrick Palmer’s hand-built Raku ceramics embrace the unpredictability of traditional Japanese firing techniques, producing dramatic metallic lustres, smoky textures, and one-of-a-kind finishes.

Whether searching for a unique Christmas gift or simply exploring exceptional contemporary ceramics, Yuletide in Clay offers an inspiring seasonal exhibition celebrating craftsmanship, texture, and individuality.
