What's on
The Comedy Village was created by comedian Rob Rouse. He wanted to bring the best stand-up comedy to the small villages in the Peak District. His dream was to create evenings full of laughter, that would bring small communities together, reducing the need for people to have to travel into the cities to find entertainment and culture.
Head to the The Bull I’ Th’ Thorne Inn – FLAGG on the 10th of November to hear from two wonderful comedians, Jessica Fostekew and Tom Wrigglesworth as they bring incredible comedy to the Peaks.
Acclaimed star of BBC’s QI, Live at the Apollo, and C4’s Travel Man
Jess, a familiar face on popular panel shows from Celebrity Pointless to House of Games, is not just a comedian; she’s a force. Don’t miss this vibrant and essential voice in comedy.
Jess’ previous triumphs include her sold-out Edinburgh Fringe run and UK tour of “Wench,” now available as a special. The uproarious “Hench,” nominated for Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and winner of Best Show at the Chortle Awards, can be streamed on Amazon Prime.
This powerhouse comedian also co-hosts The Guilty Feminist podcast, hosts her podcast about eating called “Hoovering,” and is the star and writer of BBC Radio 4’s “Sturdy Girl Club.” Her talent shines in the award-winning sitcom Motherland and the acclaimed feature film Scrapper, winner of the Grand Jury prize at the Sundance Festival.

Tom Wrigglesworth is an established stand-up comedian, radio and TV presenter and voice-over artist from Sheffield, England. With a disarmingly charming delivery and unforgettable appearance, this Yorkshire funny man became a national have-a-go-hero when he rescued a little old lady from the jaws of a Virgin train ticket inspector; only to be arrested for begging. His subsequent story of the event secured Tom several awards including the Chortle Best Show Award, and a nomination for the main Edinburgh Comedy Award. Tom first broke onto the scene back in 2003, winning the Channel 4 new comedian competition, So You Think You’re Funny?. He is now firmly established as one of the most original, talented and respected comedians on the UK and International comedy circuit. He’s enjoyed several nationwide tours with live shows, has written and starred in five self-titled series for Radio 4, and accepted performed at comedy festivals across the globe including the prestigious New Zealand, Sydney and Montreal Comedy Festivals.
