Making Time: Exploring Time through Art

Making Time explores the philosophy of time through the lens of contemporary fine art.

During this half-day workshop, I will introduce participants to my research on the temporal world and share provocation and inspiration for creating responses to the workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with a philosopher of time, and to take part in discussions, aimed at helping us to understand our intuitions about time and how to express these intuitions creatively.

Participants will be encouraged to respond to the workshop in the form of a small piece of visual art, communicating their own ideas about it would take for the world to involve time.

Eligibility:

Ages 16+
Little or no experience in philosophy
Able to be creative, e.g. drawing, painting, creative writing etc.

I will be running several workshops for different groups of people. Please choose one date per person.

This venue has no catering or cafe available, please plan accordingly.

With participants permission, art produced in the workshops will be added to an archive of research, featured on the project website, and may be selected for publication at a later date.
