Event details

21st – 24th February 2024

Saturday 24th – Spring Gardens, Buxton

Over four evenings, internationally-renowned projection mapping company Illuminos will light up the town with projections of light and sound onto local landmark buildings. Fairfield, Harpur Hill, Burbage and Spring Gardens will host these free events.

A grand finale to the Our Street programme, Illuminate Buxton will take elements from previous community projects celebrating the heritage of the area and weave them into their spectacular animations.

Created for the ‘Buxton Our Street’ Cultural Programme; bringing art and events to Buxton’s Heritage Action Zone. Funded by Historic England and Arts Council England, supported by High Peak Borough Council.

On Saturday, 24th the projections will be the finale piece to a bigger celebration event. The Our Street Youth Board have organised bands and entertainment through the afternoon by the Turner Memorial, including original work composed during our Youth Board Music Development Days. At 6.30pm Two Left Hands will lead a procession of our wonderful Wye Dragon and fun, mini-projections created by Buxton schoolchildren along Spring Gardens, from Lomas to the Turner Memorial.

Come along and be a part of the experience!
