Join me for this exciting workshop to create a fabulous flower piece for your home or garden. You will enjoy cutting and laying coloured glass and decorative details to make a unique piece. I will teach you how to cut simple shapes out of sheet glass, we’ll have a practice and then I will guide you through a specific technique I use to shape your colourful petals. This limits you a little to the style of petals BUT I am convinced you’ll get better results this way. I am happy to answer any questions before you book if needs be. We will then use a clear glass circle as a base (approx. 17cm) to layer your petals up with extra details, cut glass tiles, rods and frit.
I will create the base for you, so need to know if you plan to make a bowl or a garden sculpture (on a stainless steel pole made by Andy in Wirksworth) and also what flower you want to inspire your design. Choose a poppy, a sunflower or talk to me about your favourite colours. Please use the note section to tell me this as you order or I’ll email you to ask. If you desire a garden sculpture, there is an extra cost for the metal stake. £20 payable on the day of the session.
Simply complete your design during the session and leave it at the studio for me to fire, finish and clean up for you. We will make arrangements to pick up a few weeks later.
