Japan Fest Cromford Market Brings a Taste of Japan to Cromford This August

Cromford, Derbyshire – Japan Fest Cromford Market returns this August, bringing a relaxed and
family-friendly celebration of Japanese culture to the historic Cromford Mills. Taking place
throughout the day, visitors can enjoy Japanese-inspired entertainment, food, activities and
shopping in a unique market setting.

Unlike the other Japan Fest events held across the UK, Japan Fest Cromford Market focuses on
creating a welcoming market atmosphere where visitors can browse a variety of traders,
sample international street food and experience Japanese culture at their own pace. The event
is expected to attract between 2,500 and 3,000 visitors throughout the day.

Live Stage Performances
Visitors can enjoy a selection of live performances throughout the day, featuring both
traditional and contemporary entertainment inspired by Japan.

The programme includes the powerful drumming of Leicester Taiko, traditional Japanese koto
performances from Aki Kitagawa, energetic J-Pop music from LeLe, and anime and Japanese
music favourites from DJ Manimal.

Interactive Activities for All Ages
Alongside the market stalls and entertainment, visitors can take part in a range of hands-on
activities suitable for all ages.

Activities include fox mask painting, origami workshops, the traditional Japanese strategy game
Shogi, the Takakai game, and a colourful cosplay parade celebrating anime, gaming and
Japanese pop culture.

Food, Shopping & Traders
Japan Fest Cromford Market will feature a wide variety of food vendors serving flavours from
Japan and beyond.

Visitors can enjoy Japanese street food from Oishi, Korean corn dogs, duck wraps, and dishes
inspired by Thai, Malaysian and Chinese cuisine from Thainese. KooKoo Food will also be
serving Persian street food, offering something for everyone.

The market will also host a diverse range of stallholders selling handmade crafts, artwork, gifts,
collectibles, accessories and Japanese-inspired products.
