We have held 2 meetings already this year, at fantastic venues, and we’re thrilled to announce that the third venue for this year is the brand new contemporary arts gallery, ILKON.

10am – 1pm, 114 Heanor Road Ilkeston, Derbyshire DE7 8TB

ILKON is the home of Ilkeston Contemporary Arts which is housed in the former Methodist church on Heanor Road, bringing creative arts to the community and wider region.

“ILKON is not a made-up word, it is from the old English ‘ IL’KON ‘ meaning ‘each one, every one’ and appears in Geoffrey Chaucer’s ‘The Second Nun’s Tale’ about the life of Saint Cecilia – who by coincidence graces one of the beautiful stained-glass windows of the church which had been generously donated by the local community in 1936.”

During your visit, you are welcome to view the current exhibition at Ilkon – Selected Works from ILKON Permanent Collection curated by Isobel Brigham.

• Bring along an object, image or video perhaps which tells us something about you and your practice for a Pop-Up Exhibition. 
• Get the chance to say hello to everyone in the room in an informal setting with some Speedy Networking.
• Listen to a select Panel of Invited Guests bring a new perspective to a familiar subject.
• Network Over a Coffee in an extended break before learning what the Arts Derbyshire team are involved with.
• Have a chance for to share your news and updates in Members Noticeboard with everyone.

Venues have been selected to share an event or exhibition that is happening locally, or simply to view the venue itself, so take the opportunity to visit somewhere new or catch the latest exhibition.
