Derby Folk Weekend concerts

Fri 11 Oct – Sun 13 Oct | Derby Arena

 

All concerts will be held in the Old Bell Hotel, and there is a great line up of familiar and new faces – all bringing top class folk music into the city centre.  The weekend will also have sessions, singing, dancing and more in the city’s streets, and in venues within the Cathedral Quarter.

Trio of iconic music tributes to appear at Derby Arena

 

Three fantastic acts have been added to the 2025 lineup at Derby Arena. On Fri 21 Mar 2025, fans of the legendary Whitney Houston can belt out their favourite ballads as Whitney – Queen of the Night lights up the Arena. What’s Love Got To Do With It?, the ultimate tribute to the ‘Queen of Rock’, Tina Tuner will shake the roof of Derby Arena on Thu 1 May 2025. Finally, the King of Pop will moonwalk his way on stage on Sat 31 May 2025 in Michael Starring Ben.

 

Mother Goose wins Pantomime Award

Derby LIVE and Little Wolf Entertainment’s 2023 smash hit pantomime’s golden egg-laying Goose has won an award.

 

Ben Tanner was named as Best Supporting Artist at the UK Pantomime Association’s Pantomime Awards 2024, for his much-loved performance as the magical goose, Shelley Bassey.

 

Tickets for this year’s panto Cinderella are already selling fast so don’t miss out on your ticket to the ball.

Rain or shine, Derby Summer Sessions has got you covered – literally. The Big Top Tent promises an unbeatable live music experience whatever the weather, across three days of live music from headliners including Becky Hill, Tom Jones, and Madness.

Alvaston Park Community Fun Day

A fun-packed day for all including live music, dancers, fair rides, and craft and charity stalls. There’ll be wrestling demonstrations from Aspire Community and Wrestling Alliance, large inflatables and Stickfit sessions to enjoy, plus a bubble and circus workshop.

Romeo and Juliet

This modern presentation of Shakespeare’s tragic masterpiece will be performed by Derby Shakespeare Theatre Company.

 

Gang warfare rages on the Verona council estate between the tenants of Capulet Heights and Montague Tower. Stars are about to get crossed, fates twisted and hearts broken.
