Children in Need core funding

In June we received the amazing news that we were successful in applying for core funds from BBC Children in Need. The grant will enable our Engagement & Project Coordinator to focus on strengthening and developing our network to reach more Children and Young People.

We’re Fantastic for Families!

We’ve signed up to the Family Arts Standards, which means that our events are designed so that all family members can enjoy a trip to Level together. We want your visit to be as stress-free and enjoyable as possible so we’ve created some information will help plan your trip.

Look at our lovely new signage!

Thanks to a local supporter we’ve been able to install new signage around the site including some internal graphics and additional Braille. Improving signage was a recommendation from the 2022 Visit Peak District & Derbyshire Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Awards, so it’s great to be able to tick this one off before this year’s application is submitted!

Celestial Sound Cloud at GLISTEN Fest

A beautiful digital sound and light installation hung above the audience, to create a space to discover a galaxy of voice and Illumination. The piece invites visitors to interact with the sculpture and each another by singing, moving and dancing underneath to create their own visual experience and soundscape.

A Necklace of Stars

During the pandemic, older people in Derbyshire joined together to make A Necklace of Stars. The wonderful embroideries, poems and lullabies are now touring the county and are coming to Level in September.

The project celebrates childhood and the night sky in words, song and stitches and is a testimony to the power of human connection and creativity in the face of lockdowns and isolation.

The exhibition features a quilt of embroidered stars alongside a catalogue of poems and lullabies.
