Dronfield’s Coronation

To celebrate the Kings Coronation in May, the Barn would like to create an exhibition around your memories and/or objects from the last Coronation in 1953.

Whether you went to watch it or saw it on television, took part in a street party, remember a story about the day from a relative or have a collection of Coronation memorabilia.

Dronfield Arts Festival Open Arts Exhibition

After last years success Dronfield Arts Festival is delighted to be hosting the Open Arts Exhibition again.

Over 30 experienced artists from Dronfield and district will be submitting their original artwork for selection and exhibition over the festival weekend.

The exhibition will be taking place in the Dronfield Hall Barn Gallery and all artist’s work will be for sale.  Artists and stewards will be on hand to meet visitors and answer any questions throughout the show.  If you have a love for art, make sure you save the date!

Garden and Woodland Birds – Talk

Join Helen Ensor from RSPB Sheffield as she gives a talk about Garden and Woodland Birds.

Find out what makes a garden bird and some interesting facts about them, and birds that you might see on a walk in your local woodland. Helen is the group Leader of the RSPB Sheffield Local Group and this year we are celebrating 40 years

Bluebell Photography – Workshop

Join Chris Nowell as he teaches us how to photograph bluebells and the woodland in Spring

This workshop is all about grabbing some excellent photos to take home with us. We will cover the basics of landscape photography and how best to capture beautiful images in a woodland environment

The workshop starts at Stubbing Wood and remember you will need to bring food and drink should you require.

This 2-hour workshop will show you the basics of flower arranging and by the end of the session, you will walk away with a beautiful piece.

Cooking at the Barn  – Scone Making Workshop

Back by popular demand, join Alison, one of our chefs at the Barn, to learn how we make our scones.

This workshop will teach you step by step how to create lovely fruit and cheese scones. All ingredients provided. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate for gluten allergies.

Botanical Drawing – Flowers of the Barn Garden – Workshop

A six-week course in the art of Botanical illustration led by Rachael Dawson: The Flowers of the Barn

Join Rachael Dawson as she teaches you how to capture natures finest display in watercolour. Learn to illustrate summer flowers in all their glorious colour and shapes.

Guidance and demonstrations will be provided. Suitable for anyone who likes drawing and painting in detail


From the Wasatch’s to Yellow National Park – Talk

Join Sam Reavey as he takes you on a trip to America and the wildlife there is to find.

This photographic talk will focus on his first trip to America where he visits Utah, Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. This talk will highlight some of the birds, megafauna and smaller animals that inhabit these wild areas of America and how the images were captured
