Under the trees of Chester Green you can drink tea and coffee and eat home-made cake cake at the cafe all day- bring a folding chair if you are! Please donate to the bakers!
Certain trees will be Puppet Trees so visit them and you will see a puppet show- the puppeteers will put their hats down for you to donate money by what you feel.
On the trees you can paint to your hearts content (very popular last year). If you are short of inspiration this year we have an inspirer : freelance artist/art therapist Theresa Hempsall to encourage you and deepen your creative experience.
After a few days having given local people the chance to enjoy the art as they walk on the Green. This tree art work will be removed, preserved and taken around to local schools as a Spring exhibition to celebrate the trees of Chester Green as they come into leaf.
Maggie Roper-Attenborrow a local artist (famous as organiser of the Derby Wall) has been knocking on doors asking the wonderful people of Chester Green in St. Paul’s Rd if they might allow artists to exhibit their work in their front windows and gardens, she has now expanded her call to artists and craftspeople to fill these Window Galleries. Whoever you are knitters? embroiderers? potters, painters and photographers?
