For the 4th time in Derby, Otaku World LTD will be holding Otaku Link 4, an event in celebration and love of Anime and other parts of Japanese Culture. This event is being meticulously crafted by passionate and motivated individuals to bring just a small taste of Anime to Derby.
We are honoured to announce that SHAO DOW, a skilled musician that focuses on rapping in English and some Japanese, will be attending. He combines the two languages and weaves stories together from the perspective of different anime characters. Shao won the AIM award for hardest working artist, appeared on Ninja Warrior, has created a headphone brand and an independent Manga (Japanese style comic) and was also invited to speak at Parliament.
We also have a JPOP Star set to appear at Otaku Link 4. MION is a singer – songwriter from Japan who is currently based in the UK. She won the YAMAHA Music Revolution competition in Japan when she was only 16. Since then she has released multiple singles, some of which ranked number 1 on the Oricon Daily Charts. She honed her live performance skills whilst in Japan, now she is touring events all around the UK.
Otaku Link 4 will also host a range of activities for attendees to take part in / experience. DJ MANIMAL is the first DJ to combine anime music, KPOP and Trance into a DJ set accompanied by anime visuals, he is a mainstay of Otaku Link and has become very popular with the regulars. We will also be hosting an Anime cafe, based completely on the Maid Cafes that overrun Japan. The Anime cafe will be run by Michelangelo, the owner of the award winning coffee shop located in Nottingham called “The Specialty”. Other activities include; Anime quizzes, Art contests, Anime auction, YuGiOh and Pokemon Tournaments, store holders and a raffle.
After the day event we will commence with the Cosplay After Party. Starting at 7:30 and finishing at 12am, this after party will give the over 18s a chance to chill out, drink and socialise to their heart’s content. All whilst being surrounded by like minded individuals who share similar hobbies and interests.
We want to be able to cover a vast age range at Otaku Link 4 as Anime itself covers a large demographic. To do this we have come up with a reasonable ticket price. £7 online for just the day, £10 online for the day plus after party ticket (Booking fees apply).
