New Perspectives back in Tideswell Saturday 11th November!

New Perspectives Theatre Company make a welcome return on 11th November with Model Village, a comedy about a declining miniature village, the model makers who try to revive it and the miniature villagers who rebel. New Perspectives have been coming to the village many times over the years and this is sure to be an excellent show. Get your tickets now!

Model Village is a playful and subversive new satire and New Perspective’s latest play.

An acre of idyllic 1930’s England. Cricket on the green. The railway runs on time. But the waist-high houses are in decline. Local enthusiasts work to save the attraction and put the village back on the tourist map.

But the miniature villagers rebel. Model-makers and tiny residents clash. Will they learn to collaborate and face other threats?

New Perspectives have brought many great plays to the village since 2002 and this comedy is sure to be no exception, already getting excellent reviews on its tour.

The Guv’nor returns 25th November

Ashley Hutchings returns to the village with 100 Not Out on Saturday 25th November with Becky Mills.

It’s a musical review of the father of folk-rock’s incredible career and celebrates the release of his 100th album. Ashley (The Guv’nor) has played in the village several times over the years to capacity audiences, with his band The Rainbow Chasers and also with Ruth Angel in his stunning revival of his famous show about Cecil Sharp, the folk music collector and the songs he gathered.

So this show is bound to be popular too! Book now!

Ashley will also be bringing a big selection of CDs and other merchandise. Note: at Theatre at FSC, Fountain Square, Tideswell.

Rain stopped Driftwood

Sadly the visit from Pentabus theatre company on Friday 20th October with Driftwood had to be cancelled due to the appalling weather – the theatre company was unable to reach the village. Unfortunately we have been unable to arrange a suitable alternaticve date. Refunds have been given to those who had bought tickets.

Brought to the village through Live and Local, the Arts Council funded rural touring scheme in Derbyshire.

Tideswell Community Players Need You!

Tideswell Community Players need new blood!

We’re always looking for people to be involved in any way with our productions and are particularly looking for people who might be interested in appearing in a play.

Lockdown, Covid  and a change in many of our group’s circumstances meant a long pause in productions and we are now keen to get going again.

We also have occasional play readings to try out plays we might one day perform, or plays that we will never perform – you’re welcome to come along to join in or just listen and give your views!

Please make contact now! info@tideswelltheatre.org.uk
