We’re super excited to welcome and introduce the Mark Gwynne-Jones to Masson Mills on the 25th April for our first ever fundraiser event!
Say a big welcome to Mark Gywnne Jones, a master of his craft and the man who works words in ways most cannot comprehend.
‘Well known for mind-altering poetry with an almost music hall edge, Mark Gwynne Jones mixes humour and poignancy with great skill’
(Ian Daley, Route).
We’re absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Mark Gwynne Jones, Winner of 4 festival fringe awards for Best Spoken Word, to our fundraiser showcase at Masson Mills in April! Mark has published 5 collections of poetry and appeared in numerous anthologies. Reviewing his collection PsychicBread, Vicki Holman declared it ‘contagious, gritty, and sometimes startlingly sensitive’.
When resident poet for London’s parks Mark explored what is meant by ‘common ground’ in 21st century Britain; and in 2015 he toured Southern India and later the UK with Indian poet and playwright, Mamta Sagar. Currently Mark is commissioned to create a soundscape of his native Peak District, recording the voices, stories, weather and wildlife of this landscape of contrasts.
