Call for Artists and Arts Evaluator!
Wanted, an experienced arts evaluator to effectively capture the impact and insights of a new event on participants, audiences, partners, Chesterfield and wider North East Derbyshire.

We are also looking for an artist or collective to create a new, temporary art piece inspired by childhood and play for the first Chesterfield Children’s Festival taking place in July.

Creswell Gets More Creative
This month members of the group ran a workshop with residents of Victoria House in Creswell and pupils from Hodthorpe Primary School. Both sessions were Easter themed and members volunteered to both plan and take the lead in delivering the workshops. They were a great success for everyone involved.

Art in Warm Spaces

 
As our presence at the Warm Spaces is becoming more established people have been coming along specifically for our workshops and over the last month at the Whitworth Centre in Darley Dale participants made cards using beautiful Indian wood blocks and have also decorated glass vases with mosaic tiles.

Artployment

 
Over the past few weeks our project co-ordinator Jemma, alongside Kalila from People Express, Alma from City Arts and Kieran from Soft Touch Arts have been delivering training to youth workers and young creatives in developing and sustaining creative businesses.

The team delivered 3 days of workshops from their ‘Artployment’ learning in Colombia last year.

FREE Craft Workshop

 
On Friday the 14th of April we are hosting a FREE craft event at Vicar Lane Shopping Centre from 10 am – 2 pm.  The pop-up art activity will take place in the unit next to the Vintage Tearooms, with people of all ages invited to get creative and perhaps create their mini masterpieces for the postcard show!
