JOHN TAMS NEW CHRISTMAS CONCERT

John Tams returns to St. Peter’s church, Belper on 19th December with an all new Christmas show.
This years benefitting charity is the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance. The evening, called Celuloid and Celebration, features a film from 1977 featuring mid winter rituals across the UK. These range from dance and plays to events featuring guns and, most spectacularly, fire. John Tams narrated the film and the Albion Band provided the music.
The Celebration element will feature a set from John based around the joy of Christmas. He’ll be accompanied by musicians including long time collaborator Pete Bullock who worked with John in the Albion Band and at the National Theatre.
Expect to leave the show with a big smile that’s not likely to leave your face for days!

John Tams is a renowned musician, singer, songwriter, actor, writer, director and record producer. In the 1970s he became Musical Director at the National Theatre. In 2007 the hugely successful ‘War Horse’ opened and John, as songmaker, was part of the creative team.

Recently John has published a children’s book titled ‘The Bear Went Over The Mountain’. It introduces freestyle story telling, encouraging the storyteller to adapt and reinvent the tale. The book will be available at ‘Celluloid and Celebration’..
