#VolunteersWeek takes place in June and we joined in to celebrate our wonderful volunteer team at Derby Museums. Our volunteers are up for everything, from making, sharing, enthusing and researching. There’s nothing this team can’t do and we are so grateful for their time and dedication.

We were pleased to share more about our young volunteers – a large portion of Derby Museums’ volunteer team are under 30. They give their time with all sorts of roles ranging from welcoming visitors to caring for the model railway.
We want to say THANK YOU… together we make Derby Museums.

When Joseph Wright first exhibited this painting in 1766, it inspired high praise and still remains one of his most famous paintings. We are happy to see it back in its rightful place.
