Explore Your Future: Come To An Open Day At Derby College Group!

Derby College Group (DCG) is staging two final informative events for this academic year. These are for people to get a face-to-face insight into what educational opportunities are available.

All are invited to see what DCG has to offer. DCG is one of the most visionary, entrepreneurial and successful Colleges in the UK releasing the potential of its learners and supporting them to achieve outstanding success.

The first event is at the Roundhouse in Derby on Thursday, 6th June, from 5pm to 7pm

This is set to be an engaging and informative open evening. It is a brilliant chance to explore all curriculum areas in one place.

Visitors will be able to meet the passionate and knowledgeable teams, ask questions, and get personalised advice on finding the perfect course to suit their needs and aspirations.

Whether you’re considering a new career path, looking to enhance your skills, or just curious about what DCG has to offer, this evening is designed to provide visitors with all the information needed in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

There will be staff teams from our four campuses available:

  • The Roundhouse – is a Technical and Professional Skills College on Pride Park in an iconic setting for technical and vocational studies. It has an extensive educational portfolio ranging from engineering to construction and from teacher training to Leadership and management.
  • The Joseph Wright Centre – has exceptional resources for academic studies such as A-Levels and advanced vocational programmes.  And it is the ideal base for academic, creative, media and digital studies, with the most up-to-date facilities.
  • Broomfield Hall – an extensive working estate, the campus supports the land based, leisure, sport and public services sectors.
  • The Community Centre, Ilkeston – is a focus for an expanded range of adult learning opportunities, featuring a well-equipped flexible learning resource centre.

The second event is at Broomfield Hall in Morley, Ilkeston, on Saturday 8th June 2024 – 9am -12pm.

The team will be on hand for advice and guidance in the following subject areas: Access to HE (Animal Science), Agriculture, Animal Care, Arboriculture, Conservation & Countryside, Dog Grooming, Equine, Floristry, Horticulture, Sport and Public Services.

There will also be guided talks around the campus during the day to give visitors a chance to see more of what Broomfield has to offer.

Deputy Principal, Kate Martin commented on the events:
“Visiting the DCG Open Evening or the Broomfield Hall Open Day are both great ways for potential students to learn about and get a sense of what they might want to do with their lives.  They provide students with an understanding of the academic programmes, our culture, the college atmosphere, and the surrounding surroundings. Students can make well-informed judgements about their future education and can help them identify the best fit for their objectives, passions, and aspirations.”
